The time since my last entry was defined by intense travel and other activity. After my return to Ottawa, we celebrated Laura' Call to the Bar: She is now officially a lawyer - Congratulations Laura, well done! After that I went to Charlottetown, PEI for a conference which means that 11 years after my first arrival in Canada I have officially visited all provinces. The following weekend, Laura and I went to Trinity, a really picturesque spot on Trinity Bay, for a romantic weekend, which we both really enjoy with good food and a really nice hike on the Skerwink Trail. Some pictures of these trips can be seen here.
Finally last weekend, we went to Paul and Melissa's wedding in St. Brides, a small fishing outport on the Cape Shore, a really nice spot on the southwestern Avalon Peninsula, a beautiful 50 km souch of Placentia. The wedding was a party the essentially lasted from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning and included an tour in Melissa's dads fishing vessel to the Bird Rocks of Cape St Mary's. It was a really fantastic experience to be part of what Heather termed the "best / party / ever". To round the trip, Laura and I walked to the Bird Rocks on Sunday afternoon to take pictures and relax before the drive back (click here for map; wedding photos und bird photos). Then Spain won the EURO 2008 over Germany and made the weekend pretty much perfect :)
Tomorow it's off to Ottawa again, by the end of this week I will have been on 9 separate flights and slept away more than at home. Looking forward to some uninterrupted time here with Laura...
