Well, I think today I have paddled the biggest waves in my kayaking career. We put in at Tors Cove, and headed south towards La Manche - initially somewhat sheltered behind the islands, and then fully exposed to the large swells, which I am confident reached 4 meters in height at times. At some point as I was paddling maybe 30-50 m from the shoreline, when I noticed that it was all downhill ("downwave") from where I was to the cliffs. I was on a massive ocean wave, which passed under me and then violently crashed into the rocks... An amazing display of the oceans force. On the way back I spotted a couple of seals, and a moose on the roadside completed a great daytrip with certainly no shortage of adrenalin ;)
