Bonavista

Well, the last 6 weeks since Laura and I went on a little getaway to the Bonavista Peninsula have really flown by... In a way, that is not really surprising, since we have been busy getting ready for the arrival of our baby. Actually, I don't think I have officially annonced that on this site yet, but yes, Laura and I are expecting a baby at the end of October, and we are very much looking forward to this new chapter in our lives... I will make sure to share the news when the time comes, but for now, I would like to give you a little update on our Bonavista trip over the Labour Day Weekend, which we both really enjoyed. We left St. John's on a Friday afternoon and made our way towards Port Union, where we moved into our nice bed & breakfast accommodation, which served as a base camp for exploring the area over the next couple of days. We visited the Cape Bonavista lighthouse, toured the town, relaxed on the beach in Elliston, and visited the historic town of Port Union. On our way back, we stopped in Kings Cove, where Laura's dad's family had come from. What was nice was that Laura had brought some information with her, so we were able to find the grave of her great-great-great-great grantfather, who had come from England in 1804, in the old cemetery... So far so good, we had a great time, so please have look at a couple of pictures below (full album is here).
