I had done a lot of snorkeling in my childhood and youth in the Mediterranean, so I was naturally interested to look beneath the surface here. I did give it a try brief try a few years ago, but even in the summer, the water was just too cold to float around for more than 5 or 10 minutes. But I never quite gave up on the idea, so last weekend, I gave it another shot, this time wearing my paddling drysuit. It was fantastic - I was comfortable and warm, and I really enjoyed exploring a completely different world. My snorkel and google will definitely come along in my kayak from now on!
